I'm having issues with cable redundancy as well.
Cimplicity v8.1 SIM 10.

We have two network rings.
All the PLCs, Viewers and SCADAs are connected to both of the network rings.
When both networks are connected to both SCADA server, GefRedundancy shows that
Primary is Master and Secondary is Slave which is normal.
As soon as primary network is disconnected from primary SCADA, the system goes berserk.
1. Log file says system goes into dual master mode.
2. GefRedundancy says Primary offline, Secondary is Master.
3. The viewer seems to freeze.
4. AMRP crashed in secondary server.
5. I can't stop the project using workbench in primary SCADA. It pops up an error saying can't stop service in secondary SCADA. The project can only be stopped using Cimplicity options.

Recently, IT changes the network such that IP routing is possible between the two rings.
With IP routing enabled, if i unplug primary network ( from SCADA1, from SCADA1 i can still ping a PLC connected to primary network ( The ping goes out via the secondary network (, through a router, then goes back to the primary network ring and able to hit the PLC.

I'm not sure whether this network set up confuses Cimplicity?
Any comments would be much appreciated.

Hi Sim - I think the issue is you have allowed gateway to allow traffic across the networks, this shouldn't be the case as it means both networks can see each other it should be blocked. I think this has been resolved by either VLAN and blocking and or blocking subnets by firewall.
